Description
Top View Analyzer – TVA100
Special instrument for measurements in depressions and on concave surfaces
Our Top View Analyzer – TVA100 is the only instrument in the world to use the top-view reflection method for measuring the contact angle of a liquid on a solid from above. The innovative measuring method is particularly suitable for measurements in depressions and on concave surfaces where drops cannot be analyzed using the conventional side view.
High-quality components for precise contact angle
The instrument measures the contact angle of the drop based on the distance of light spots which are reflected at the surface of the drop. The instrument is equipped with a high-quality lens and a high-resolution camera in order to display this distance accurately. The drop, the volume of which is included in the calculation, is dispensed with high precision in order to obtain a reliable value for the contact angle.
Measurements are quickly carried out with several test liquids by changing the dosing tips in a simple way in order to determine the surface free energy of the sample. Prepared measurement templates in the software for the measurement of contact angle and surface free energy save more time when carrying out the measurements and provide easy familiarization.
Flexible use of measuring head for other systems
The measuring head used in the TVA100 is also available as a module for our Drop Shape Analyzers DSA100 and DSA30. When incorporated into these modular systems, it enables a fast changeover between the top-view reflection method and the horizontal method for drop shape analysis by means of a simple conversion.
We would also be pleased to develop a suitable, special gantry solution for your application for moving the TVA100 measuring head accurately to the required measuring position with the help of a robot.
