UltraScan VIS Spectrophotometer – HunterLab

High-Performance Color Measurement

The UltraScan VIS is a high-performance color measurement benchtop spectrophotometer that measures the complete CIE recommended spectral range of 360 – 780 nm. This versatile instrument measures opaque, transparent, and translucent solids and liquids with exceptional precision, making it ideal for production and laboratory applications including raw material inspection, finished product evaluation, and color analysis method development.

Advanced Measurement Capabilities

The UltraScan VIS easily measures both reflected and transmitted color as well as transmission haze, meeting CIE, ASTM and USP guidelines for accurate color measurement. Utilizing diffuse/8° geometry with automated specular component inclusion/exclusion, this instrument ensures reliable and consistent results. For transmission measurement, the robust CIE-conforming sphere instrument (TTRAN Total Transmission mode) effectively negates the effects of minor scattering typically found in transparent samples.

Exceptional Precision and Reliability

With exceptional inter-instrument agreement and long-term stability, you can be confident that differences between measurements are due to actual product color changes, not instrument variability. Materials on the borderline of accepted tolerances will not be unnecessarily rejected. The instrument features dual 256 element diode arrays with high resolution, concave holographic grating and includes EasyMatch QC software for comprehensive color analysis.

Versatile Measurement Options

The UltraScan VIS offers both Large Area View (LAV) and Small Area View (SAV) measurement options with automatic lens switching. The large transmission compartment is open on three sides for easy sample handling, and the instrument includes automated UV calibration and control with optional cutoff filters.
