TST 510/250 – Thermal Yarn Shrinkage – Lenzing

The TST 510/250 is used for automated determination of thermal shrinkage and shrinkage force of filament and spun yarns, technical yarns such as tire cord, and plastic tapes. It can test up to 10 samples simultaneously according to ASTM D4974, D5591 and EN 13844 standards.

The system performs tests fully automatically and computer controlled. Samples are prepared and pre-tensioned with clamping weights, then the oven-type heater automatically covers the samples during heating. The entire process is monitored graphically on a connected PC without operator influence.

The TST 510/250 can operate in a temperature range from 45 °C to 300 °C with excellent temperature distribution better than 1% over all 10 testing positions within the oven-type heater.

The instrument can measure shrinkage length from -500% to 99% with ±0.1% accuracy, and shrinkage force from 1 to 2000 cN with <0.2% accuracy. It also offers dynamic testing with temperature ramps and residual shrinkage measurements after cooling.

The TST 510/250 includes intuitive Windows-based software for test control and evaluation. It provides graphical display of shrinkage behavior, detailed statistical evaluation, comprehensive reports, and supports programmable test routines for customized testing sequences.

Optional accessories include pneumatic clamps, fine adjustment of pretension, wider encoder rolls for tapes up to 5mm width, support for heavy yarns with pretension weights >1kg, additional calibration weights, and additional pretension weights for various sample types.
